The Service

The Voluntary Transport Scheme provides friendly, helpful volunteer drivers, who use their own cars to offer transport to those in need. Please note this is not a taxi service.

Purpose

The Scheme can be used to take you to:

 Medical Appointments

 Personal Business

 Visiting friends/relations in hospital

 Social events

Availability

Every effort is made to provide a service, but due to volunteer availability we cannot guarantee a journey.

Please note - due to unprecedented demand we are currently concentrating our voluntary transport journeys on getting people to medical appointments only.

Eligibility

You are eligible if:

 You live within the Staffordshire Moorlands

And

 You have no other transport available

And

 You are unable to use public transport

Please give us as much notice as possible – ideally (a minimum of) 1 week

Charges

You will be asked to make a payment towards the cost of the driver’s expenses. This is based on mileage.
