Nacro Education Longton Centre
We work with young people some of whom are classed as vulnerable on two programmes, Schools Provision 14-16 years and Study Programme 16-19 years where we offer a range of vocational pathways including:
- City & Guilds Construction Skills E3 Award to Ext Certificate
- City & Guilds Retail E3 Award, L1 Award, L1 Certificate
- City & Guilds Catering E3 Award to Diploma
- City & Guilds Functional Skills E1, E2, E3, L1, L2
- GCSE English & Mathematics
- Employability Skills E3-L2.
In addition to these schools provision also undertake a varied curriculum NOCN E3, L1 in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development and NOCN Entry Awards and Certificate in Independent Living including Personal Development, Catering, Sports & Leisure, Motor Vehicle and Cycle Maintenance. We also facilitate extension activities and complimentary activities to enhance the learning experience. These include attending community events including Scare fest at Halloween, Our Burslem events, Work placements with local businesses to run alongside vocational areas, allowing learners to experience working life and improve employment opportunities.
Who can use our service?
Our service is inclusive and we strive to provide education for all young people aged 14-19 including those who have been excluded from mainstream school and other referral providers, young people who experience social and emotional difficulties, young people with Education Health and Care Plans, and Youth Offending Team Referrals. We are an equal opportunities educational provider and champion equality & diversity, providing education for young people inclusive of those with disabilities and learning needs.

What happens when I become an adult?
All learners have a progression pathway so can be referred onto Further Education, Higher Education, Apprentices and Employment.
