Peacock Hay - Voyage Care

Voyage Care

We offer support to seven adults with a learning disability, autism and associated complex needs.

The individuals we support often have communication needs and we use a wide range of effective communication tools and systems to help them. Everyone is supported to develop their existing abilities and we take a person-centred approach, including each person in the way the home is run.

We encourage everyone to take part in a variety of activities, including bowling, swimming, sports, horse riding and visiting the cinema and local attractions such as Alton Towers, the Potteries, Little Moreton Hall, Festival Park and Bridgemere Garden Centre. Each person has an individualised plan of activities that is meaningful and appropriate to their needs and preferences.

We access local colleges to promote individual development, education and life skills. We also provide in-house activities including baking, arts and crafts and computer work. Staff support everyone to take holidays and short breaks to destinations of their choice.

Staff are supported by a behavioural therapist and person centred plans include the communication needs and preferences of each individual.

Facilities

The property has a warm and welcoming décor. There is a large lounge, leading to an activity room and conservatory which overlooks the rear garden. A separate dining area is provided at the rear of the property. We also have a fully equipped sensory room and there is a large, accessible kitchen where everyone is supported to prepare meals and snacks.

The environment has been carefully designed to respond to and support the needs of people who may show behaviour that challenges, while providing a warm and homely environment, with a low stimulus décor.
