Early Years Volunteering Programme

Volunteering is done for a variety of reasons. Some see it as an opportunity to give back to the community or improve the lives of others around them. Others can use it as a chance to expand their expertise and knowledge or learn new skills. We are dedicated to encouraging and recognising volunteering in all of its forms.

The following are a few explanations for volunteering.

For some, it presents an opportunity to:

  • give back to an organisation that has, either directly or indirectly, had an impact on their lives;
  • improve the lives of others;
  • feel valued and a part of a team;
  • increase confidence and self-esteem.

Some people use volunteer work as a step on the way to employment or as a chance to try something fresh that may result in a change in careers.

Volunteering can be a way to:

  • acquire new skills, knowledge, and experience;
  • expand existing skills and knowledge;
  • improve a CV;
  • increase work prospects;

Others enjoy volunteering because of its social benefits.

These consist of:

  • socialising;
  • making new connections;
  • doing something that is fun;
  • meeting new people;
  • and learning about the neighbourhood.

Regardless of your age, skills, or employment status, everyone can volunteer. No matter what your goals are or where your skills lay, we can support you as you search for the right volunteer experience. Making the first move is sometimes the hardest aspect of volunteering. We can help you get going.
