Youth offending prevention service

We support children and young people who are at risk of being involved in crime. We will work with children and young people to stop them from becoming involved in crime and anti-social behaviour and change the thinking and behaviour and to help children and young people access positive activities.

Who can use the service?

Children aged 8-17 years.

Are there any costs?

No.

How can I refer?

You can refer direct to us by calling 01785 277022. We will take some basic details from you and tell you when we will be in touch with you.

What happens after referral?

Based on what you have told us in the referral we will make a decision on whether we can work with you. If we agree that you meet our criteria we will allocate your case to a worker.

Who will we see?

You will see a youth crime prevention worker and they will spend time with you to understand what you need to reduce your risks of becoming involved with crime. 

What happens when I come to the service?

We will work with you and your family and we will put together a plan to support you based on what you tell us. We may decide that we want to include sports development workers or your school but we will work out what is best for you.

What happens when I become an adult?

We will work with you to ensure that you have services supporting you once you reach the age of 18.
