Tamworth Memory Cafe

Every Tuesday Morning from 1030am 1230pm

Tamworth Memory Cafe supported by Homeinstead Senior Care in partnership with the Heart of Tamworth Community project. We are a domiciliary care agency who specializes in the care and support of people living with dementia; we work in the community with key support workers.  The Memory cafe offers a place where people can come together in a supporting friendly environment, with others that are in similar circumstances. By talking and finding out how others deal with things, people can better manage their own situations.

The cafe is also supported by the Alzheimer’s society and the Community mental health team who visit on a bi-monthly basis.  There is a private room, if members who want to discuss more complex matters.

The cafe is supported by 2 trained caregivers and volunteers and we have a bi-monthly news letter which lists activities.

The Memory Cafe is open Every Tuesday 1030 1230

The Memory Cafe is a place where individuals with memory loss and their carers can get to together in a safe supportive and engaging environment.

The cafe encourages friendship, provides emotional support and reduces isolation often felt by people with memory loss.

What the Memory Cafe Offers

The social side is probably the most important aspect of the cafe.  It provides a chance to have a cuppa and chat with friends. Appropriate, fun activities are available for everyone to take part in if they want but there is no obligation or      pressure to do so.  You can sit and chat or just listen to what’s going on around you.

Shared activities can promote a sense of belonging, bring enjoyment and pleasure.  By remaining involved and      active, a person living with dementia can maintain their skills and independence for longer.

Relevant information on living with memory loss and who can help, is available.

 Join us

You are very welcome to come along and join us on any or all cafe sessions, there is no need to book.  There is no commitment if you want to just pop in and see what we are about.

We are here to help both you and your loved one living with dementia.

There is no charge to attend.  Voluntary contributions to help cover running costs are welcome.
