Consultation and Engagement

We all need to work in partnership and put our minds and hearts together to ensure that the changes we are implementing in Staffordshire will make a real difference in the lives of all children and young people with SEND.

With such a wide range of people and organisations involved it may be a real challenge to ensure everybody has an opportunity to participate but we are doing our best to give you different means to engage and have your say in shaping of the reforms.

We are very keen to hear the views of young people and their parents and carers. To date in preparing for the reforms we have held a number of events. 

Parents Charter

This charter has been developed in conjunction with parents and carers of individuals with Special Education Needs and Disabilities.

Parent/Carer Engagement Sessions 2014

Two parent and carer engagement sessions took place in September and October 2014 around the SEND reforms.

Views and Experiences of Children in Residential Special Schools

The Office of the Children's Commissioner has produced a report on the views and experiences of children in residential special schools.  A copy of this is available.

Staffordshire SEND Family Partnership

Information, Advice and Support (IAS) Service

SEND Family Partnership (formerly Parent Partnership) is for parents and carers of children and young people aged 0 to 25, with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We offer information, advice and support about education, health and social care issues.

National Youth Advocacy Service
