  • debt
  • employment
  • family matters
  • housing and homelessness
  • immigration

  • tax credits

You can find your local branch, by using the citizens advice search tool.

I want to know more about Direct Payments

Are you eligible to receive social care support? Are you eligible to have some or all of your social care support paid for?   If so, you could arrange the care services yourself, through Direct Payments.

A direct payment is when your personal budget is paid directly to you to buy your own care and support in line with your assessed needs.

It allows you to have more choice and control over your life by enabling you to make decisions about how your care is delivered.

More information about direct payments and how to arrange this can be found on the Staffordshire County Council website.

By clicking on the menu above, you can find a range of organisations offering support around direct payments that can help with:

  • Payroll for when you employ a personal assistant

  • Recruiting a personal assistant
  • Arranging a disclosure and barring service check (DBS)

I want to know more about pre-paid cards for Direct Payments

If you eligble for a direct payment, a prepaid card can be loaded with your payment for your care services.

You can use it to purchase the goods and services to meet your assessed social care needs as set out in your care plan or support plan.

More information about pre-paid cards and how to arrange this can be found on the Staffordshire County Council website.

I want to know more about benefits

Knowing what benefits you may qualify for is important so that you do not miss out on the help you may be entitled to.

There are a number of benefits available to support people who find themselves in the unfortunate position of being out of work or unable to work because of illness, injury or disability.

Some benefits are also available to people working in lower paid jobs or who have dependents who need extra support.
