Coronavirus update for libraries - phased re-opening
Please be aware that some libraries will have different and possibly reduced opening hours and some services might not be available initially as they reopen.
There will be some simple steps to follow to make your visit pleasant and safe for you and them.
The online library for free eBooks, eAudio, eMagazines and newspapers will be still available for you to use, as are a selection of free to access online resources.

Facebook Groups and Activities
The Libraries Team will continue to provide regular groups and activities via Facebook. This includes:
CreateSpace is a creative and social group. Artists Ben and Phil, from Juneau Projects, will be providing regular themes and activities that you can do at home, including drawing, painting, mixed media and more.

Telephone Reading Friends
Telephone Reading Friends offers a series of four chats, once a week, on the theme of books and reading and is very flexible to account for all tastes and flavours! The chats can be about a favourite author, book, genre, new titles or anything else book related that takes your fancy. To find out more or express an interest please email email@example.com.

How do I join my local library?
It’s free to join and borrow books from your library.
The quickest and easiest way is to apply online.
Alternatively you can join at your local library by going to the main desk.
What else is available at my local library?
Each library has slightly different services and facilities, but most will have:
- Free wi-fi
- Free PC access
- Local studies
- Meeting rooms
The above are just a few examples of what you will find at the library, but there is lots more on offer. Please see your local library page for more infomration.
Need help with IT or to get online?
When your local libaray is fully open they will start to offer drop-in sessions where you can meet an IT Buddy?
1-2-1 sessions are usually also available but must be booked in advance

Every library and travelling library has computers available for free use. You can use the library computers to access the internet, email accounts and to use our installed programs.
If you're just starting out, there are many ways libraries can help:

What activities and groups are usually available at my local library?
All of the libraries usually offer different types of activities and groups ranging from knit and natter clubs, coffee mornings, reading groups, art classes, carers groups, friendship groups and much, much more.
Search for your local library here on Staffordshire Connects and take a look at their website or Facebook pages for details of what they provide and when.
